The Multilateral Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation Israel Ibero-America (now the Israel Ibero-America Chamber of Commerce) was invited to take part as a speaker at the 4th Smart Cities Congress. In October 2020, the Chamber gave a lecture at this forum on Israeli innovation in the construction and development of smart cities in Latin America.

Israeli innovation for Latin America’s smart cities

The lecture was given by Mr. David O. Abraham, President of the Chamber, and Mr. Luis Aponte, the organization’s Director of Social Affairs.

The presentation focused on how Israel’s experience in innovation can be applied to the construction and urban development of Latin American cities.

What is a smart city?

A smart city (ciudad inteligente in Spanish) is one that uses information and communication technologies, data and sensors to manage urban services such as mobility, energy, water or waste more efficiently, and to improve its residents’ quality of life.

Israel is internationally known for its ecosystem of innovation and technology-based startups.
