On March 5, 2020, the Costa Rica Support and Promotion Office (OSPCR) and the Multilateral Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation Israel Ibero-America (now the Israel Ibero-America Chamber of Commerce) organized a meeting between H.E. Mr. Jordi Gallardo, Minister of Economy of the Principality of Andorra, and H.E. Ms. Adriana Bolaños Argueta, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica. The meeting was held on the occasion of the Government of Andorra’s first official visit to the Republic of Costa Rica.

Review of Andorra’s first official visit to Costa Rica
The meeting summarized the conclusions of the agenda carried out during Mr. Gallardo’s visit. It also reviewed the projects being developed between the Principality of Andorra and the Republic of Costa Rica through the OSPCR and the Chamber.
Andorra is a principality located in the Pyrenees, between Spain and France, whose role of head of state is shared by two co-princes: the Bishop of Urgell and the President of the French Republic.
The OSPCR’s work promoting Costa Rica
Mr. David Abraham told the Vice Minister about the work the OSPCR has carried out over the last 11 years to promote Costa Rica’s image abroad.
They also discussed the future projects that the OSPCR is developing to continue promoting Costa Rica and to assist its citizens abroad.
The Concert for Peace, the origin of the visit
The Andorran minister’s visit to Costa Rica took place thanks to the third edition of the Concert for Peace, an event that the OSPCR organizes year after year in Jerusalem. The concert commemorates the abolition of the Costa Rican army and, at the same time, showcases Costa Rica through its culture.
Costa Rica abolished its army in 1948, a decision enshrined in the 1949 Political Constitution.
