The Costa Rica Support and Promotion Office (OSPCR), together with the Multilateral Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation Israel Ibero-America (now the Israel Ibero-America Chamber of Commerce), organized a meeting on March 5, 2020, between H.E. Mr. Jordi Gallardo, Minister of Economy of the Principality of Andorra, and Mr. Erick Ulate, Deputy Director of PROCOMER’s Export Department. The meeting took place as part of the first official visit by the Government of Andorra to the Republic of Costa Rica.
Review of Andorra’s agenda in Costa Rica
The meeting summarized the conclusions of the agenda carried out during Mr. Gallardo’s visit.
The participants also reviewed the projects under way between the Principality of Andorra and the Republic of Costa Rica through the OSPCR and the Chamber.
Promoting Costa Rica’s exports
Mr. David Abraham briefed PROCOMER’s Deputy Director on the work the OSPCR has carried out over the past 11 years to champion Costa Rican entrepreneurs and promote Costa Rica’s exports abroad.
They also discussed the future projects the OSPCR is developing to continue promoting Costa Rica and assisting Costa Rican entrepreneurs who wish to access foreign markets.
Costa Rica’s Foreign Trade Promoter (PROCOMER) is the institution responsible for promoting exports of Costa Rican goods and services.
The Concert for Peace, the origin of the visit
The Andorran minister’s visit to Costa Rica came about thanks to the third edition of the Concert for Peace, an event the OSPCR organizes year after year in Jerusalem to commemorate the abolition of the Costa Rican army and, at the same time, to showcase Costa Rica through its culture.
The Chamber and Costa Rica’s exports
Andorra and Costa Rica are part of the scope of work of the Israel Ibero-America Chamber of Commerce (CILIB), a private, international non-profit organization founded in Israel in 2019 and registered in Florida (USA), which works in foreign trade, training and cooperation between Israel, 22 Ibero-American countries, Andorra and the USA.
