Signing of the agreement between CILIB and the San Luis de Monteverde Development Association

On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, the Multilateral Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation Israel Ibero-America (now the Israel Ibero-America Chamber of Commerce), known by its acronym CILIB, signed a cooperation agreement with the San Luis de Monteverde Development Association in Costa Rica. The Chamber was represented by its regional director.

The main objective of the agreement is to promote the economic and social development of this community, which has enormous potential.

San Luis de Monteverde, a rural community committed to sustainability

San Luis de Monteverde is a small rural community located in the mountains of the Monteverde region, famous for its biodiversity and natural landscapes. Known for its conservation initiatives and its commitment to sustainability, it offers a suitable environment for developing projects in harmony with the natural surroundings that promote both ecotourism and environmental education.

The area is home to important biological reserves and to a community that values the balance between development and environmental preservation. The Monteverde region, located in the Tilarán mountain range, is internationally known for its cloud forests.

Development associations and international cooperation

In Costa Rica, community development associations are neighborhood organizations that drive projects of local interest and are supported by the National Directorate of Community Development (DINADECO).

Through this agreement, CILIB undertakes to implement various projects and programs in San Luis de Monteverde, with the aim of making the community a benchmark for development in the country.

The initiative reinforces CILIB’s commitment to international collaboration and to fostering progress in the regions it works with, always with a view to strengthening cooperation between Israel and the Ibero-American nations.

The Chamber will continue to work hand in hand with local authorities and key organizations to drive initiatives that benefit the community and generate a positive long-term impact.
