The Multilateral Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation Israel Ibero-America (now the Israel Ibero-America Chamber of Commerce) attended AIPAC 2020, the annual conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee held in Washington, D.C., in March 2020. During the event, the Chamber’s President, together with H.E. Mr. Jordi Gallardo, spoke with U.S. Senator Edward John Markey.
What is AIPAC, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is a lobby that promotes relations between Israel, the United States Congress and the White House.
AIPAC is one of the many pro-Israel organizations in the United States and claims to have more than 100,000 members. California Congressman Brad Sherman has said that AIPAC “is the largest organization promoting the alliance between Israel and the United States”.

AIPAC 2020 was attended by senators, congressmen and senior officials from several countries, most notably:
- United States
- Colombia
- Serbia
- Congo
- Guatemala
- Andorra
Members of the diplomatic corps of many other nations that are important allies of Israel also took part.
Meeting with Senator Edward John Markey
During the event, the Chamber’s President, together with H.E. Mr. Jordi Gallardo, had the opportunity to speak with the Hon. Edward John Markey, Democratic Senator from Massachusetts.
Once again, Senator Markey expressed his solidarity with the Jewish people. He also expressed his wish to foster and strengthen relations between the Principality of Andorra and the United States.
