From its regional office in Costa Rica, and as an event aimed at all of Ibero-America, the Multilateral Chamber of Commerce and Cooperation Israel Ibero-America (now the Israel Ibero-America Chamber of Commerce) scheduled a virtual concert for April 14, 2021, to commemorate the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. The free concert was performed by the Costa Rican group Editus.
Editus in concert for Israel’s National Day
Editus is a renowned Costa Rican group and a three-time Grammy Award winner. For the event, several organizations joined forces to offer a performance that met the health requirements imposed by the pandemic.
The State of Israel declared its independence on May 14, 1948. Its Independence Day (Yom Haatzmaut) is celebrated according to the Hebrew calendar, so its date in the Gregorian calendar varies each year and usually falls between April and May.
Times and broadcast
The broadcast was announced live on the Chamber’s Facebook page, at the following times:
- 7:00 p.m., Costa Rica time;
- 8:00 p.m., Mexico City time;
- 9:00 p.m., Chile time.
