“The top 30 universities in the United States are highly selective, evaluating each application holistically to identify the candidates with the greatest potential. With admission rates between 3% and 10%, these institutions look for students with an outstanding academic record, leadership skills and demonstrated social commitment. Beyond grades and test scores, they value extracurricular activities that reveal the candidate’s leadership and perseverance, as well as personal essays that reflect their character and motivations. For students, having a distinctive profile that stands out for its achievements, values and unique perspectives can make all the difference in the admission process. Our advisory service is designed to strengthen and showcase that profile, maximizing the chances of success in this competitive admission process.”
The challenge of university admission in the United States: the Top 30
Getting into the Top 30 universities in the United States is a demanding challenge: only between 3% and 10% of applicants are admitted. These universities review every application thoroughly, looking for the most outstanding students to give them access to unique opportunities, especially if they are hoping for a scholarship.
There is no foolproof formula. However, an extracurricular track record of leadership and social commitment can make the difference between success and rejection: for these universities, your personal achievements and the impact you have had by leading or developing projects are what set you apart.
What is the student profile incubation program?
It is a program to optimize and strengthen the student profile of young people with leadership skills, aimed at improving their chances of admission to elite universities through the development of high-impact social and leadership projects.
Its goal is to strengthen your profile and extracurricular track record and to create a space where you can experiment, demonstrate and obtain accreditation that validates your leadership skills in a supervised and accredited environment, with access to letters of recommendation from top-level figures and institutions.
Who it is for
The program is designed for students with leadership potential who want to strengthen their profile for admission to the Top 30 universities in the United States. It is not limited to that country: although it emphasizes preparation for elite US universities, it also strengthens leadership and social commitment skills that are valuable for any top-tier international institution.
How CILIB helps you strengthen your student profile
- Leadership and innovation: we will provide the setting where you can demonstrate your innovation and leadership skills to international organizations or figures by carrying out projects with high added value or a significant impact on society.
- Step-by-step mentoring: we will help you identify the areas to strengthen and the opportunities that best suit your background and profile, so you can strategically use and showcase your best personal and professional skills.
- Outreach: as your project progresses, we will publicize its development and the success you achieve to strengthen your image.
What the program includes
- We prepare a work plan tailored to your personal preferences and professional aptitudes.
- We will present project ideas in which you can take part as leader or co-leader, individually or as part of a group, to strengthen your personal track record.
- We can also monitor and accredit a project you are currently working on (subject to prior acceptance by our qualifying committee).
- Depending on the subject matter, we will present your project to international organizations or well-known figures who may be interested in acting as observers, so that they can issue letters of recommendation about your leadership qualities and what you have achieved.
- Where appropriate, we will publicize the success of the project you led or took part in, or the solution you developed, in the national and international media with which we have cooperation agreements.
- If necessary, we will help you put together a team to achieve your goals.
- You will have the support of a mentor who will guide you through any obstacles that may arise while developing your project.
Types of projects and mentors
You have several options. You can join one of CILIB’s active projects, which cover areas such as social leadership, innovation, sustainability and community development and are designed to generate impact and visibility. If you have an idea of your own, you can propose your own project, which we will evaluate and adapt to the program’s training and leadership objectives.
If you are already working on a project outside the program, you can submit it to the qualifying committee and apply for its accreditation. If accepted, you will receive advice and support with its supervision, and you may obtain formal recognition from CILIB and, in some cases, from international organizations (subject to the committee’s approval).
Mentors are professionals with experience in, or ties to, the project’s field; drawing on their knowledge of the area, they will follow up on and attest to the student’s success and performance during the project. Mentors will only accept projects that match their interests and ethical values, so each case is assessed individually.
